Resume Building: A Compelling Narrative for Freshers
Your resume is your first handshake with a potential employer. For freshers, the challenge is real—how do you fill an A4 page when you haven't held a full-time job yet?
Lead With Education
As a fresh graduate, your education section should sit at the top. Include your degree, institution, GPA (if above 3.5), relevant coursework, and any academic honours.
Highlight Projects Over Jobs
Internships are gold, but even personal or academic projects demonstrate initiative. Did you build a website? Lead a college event? Conduct independent research? These all count.
The Skills Section Strategy
Don't just list "Microsoft Office." Be specific:
- Technical: Python, SQL, Tableau, Figma
- Soft Skills: Cross-functional collaboration, public speaking, conflict resolution
- Certifications: Google Analytics, HubSpot Inbound Marketing
Format Matters
Use a clean, single-column layout. Avoid graphics-heavy templates that confuse ATS (Applicant Tracking Systems). Stick to standard fonts like Calibri or Arial at 10-11pt.
